Milan Design Week 2026
Overview
At Milan Design Week 2026, PROLICHT took part in several international collaborations, presenting lighting solutions across a range of architectural contexts—from a post-industrial site in central Milan to curated exhibition environments and a trade fair presence at Salone del Mobile.
The focus was on exploring how light can be conceived as an integral part of architecture: precise, flexible, and atmospherically effective.

Concept: Starting Points
Under the guiding concept of “Starting Points”, multiple locations across Milan were created where lighting solutions could be experienced within real architectural contexts. These spaces acted as points of departure for dialogue, inspiration, and new project ideas.
1. Il Mulino Estate – Collaboration with Tom Dixon
A central project was the collaboration with British designer Tom Dixon as part of the Fuorisalone installation “Il Mulino Estate”.
The former industrial site, originally designed by Gio Ponti, was transformed into a multi-layered experiential environment. Alongside brands such as Vispring, VitrA, Kvadrat, and Monument, PROLICHT was an integral part of the overall concept as lighting partner.
PROLICHT used architectural lighting solutions to define spaces, guide sightlines, and shape atmospheres. The modular SEN system and G-Boards enabled a flexible integration of decorative and architectural lighting.
The Silos – Light in Dialogue with History
Within the former grain silos, a dialogue emerged between historic architecture and contemporary design. Lighting enhanced spatial depth and revealed structural qualities.
Here, SEN was used as a precise tool to establish light as an independent design layer.
Mua Mua Hotel – Light and Object in Interaction
At the center of the site, the new hotel concept Mua Mua was presented.
The combination of decorative luminaires from Tom Dixon’s portfolio with PROLICHT’s G-Boards resulted in sculptural chandelier compositions that merge light and object.
Garage – Between Work and Life
The garage area explored hybrid spatial concepts between office and lounge.
A dialogue emerged between decorative lighting and precise architectural illumination, reflecting the blurred boundaries between professional and social environments.
2. Design Palazzo Austria – SEN in a Historic Context
At Palazzo Confalonieri in the Brera Design District, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the Austrian furniture industry presented an exhibition of contemporary design.
The staging was developed by the architectural studio Vasku & Klug.
Light as a Subtle Architectural Layer
PROLICHT conceived the lighting as a deliberately restrained architectural layer, supporting the exhibition without dominating it.
A dedicated SEN composition created a focused spatial moment, establishing a dialogue between contemporary lighting design and historic architecture.
3. OIDO @ Salone del Mobile – Space, Acoustics, and Light
At the booth of OIDO during Salone del Mobile, the interplay of space, acoustics, and light was at the center.
Strong Visual Identity
Defined by deep red tones, the concept created a clear and immersive spatial identity.
Architectural elements such as arches, vertical structures, and rhythmic sequences guided visitors intuitively through the space.
Light as a Supporting Structure
Lighting was conceived as an integral part of the architecture, enhancing orientation, materiality, and spatial depth without overpowering the design.
Resonance & Impact
The projects were met with strong interest from an international professional audience. High visitor frequency, focused discussions, and consistently positive feedback confirmed the relevance of the presented concepts.
The different installations became meeting points for architects, designers, and decision-makers across the industry.
