TECHNICAL BUYER (M/F/D)
PROLICHT is an internationally successful premium manufacturer of architectural lighting solutions. Tailor-made lighting concepts for professional applications are developed and manufactured at our headquarters in Götzens, Austria, and distributed worldwide through our global network. To strengthen our Purchasing team, we are looking for an experienced Technical Buyer (m/f/d) to join us as soon as possible.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage the operational procurement of technical components, assemblies, raw materials, and services
- Plan and coordinate material requirements to ensure the timely availability of technical components, assemblies, raw materials, and services
- Obtain, review, and compare supplier quotations
- Manage project-related purchasing activities, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are achieved as a Project Buyer
- Monitor delivery schedules and actively manage supplier performance
- Process order confirmations, supplier complaints, and delivery deviations
- Maintain item, supplier, and purchasing data in the ERP system
- Coordinate closely with Production, Production Planning, Engineering, and Warehouse teams
- Support the optimization of purchasing processes, inventory levels, and supply chains
- Assist with price negotiations and framework agreements
That job requires:
- Completed commercial or technical education (e.g. Industrial Clerk, Technical Commercial Specialist, Buyer, or a comparable qualification)
- Several years of professional experience in technical purchasing, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of operational purchasing, materials planning, and logistics scheduling
- Technical understanding and the ability to interpret technical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical specifications are an advantage
- Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Structured, reliable, and solution-oriented working style
- Strong negotiation and communication skills combined with commercial awareness
- Team player with the ability to work independently and take responsibility
- Good written and spoken German and English; Spanish language skills are an advantage
